Circa early 80’s

An early example of his work under his own name. Glazed and leaded upper display cabinet with single door and 3 inner glass shelves. Below is a single doored cupboard with inner shelf, unusual as the multi panelled inlays are  of the
rarer and more expensive  burred oak. All the outer woodwork is adzed and the fittings are in wrought iron. Signature foxes head incised into the  top right of the cupboard section. Superb condition and colour.

Malcolm is a ‘Mouseman’ trained craftsman who left in 1981 to set up his own workshop in Carlton Husthwaite. He is still working there, inspite of a horrific workshop accident in Feb 2009 which saw him severe his hand. Fortunately prompt medical
attention saved his hand.

Circa 1960s/70’s

Features a single door with eight inset panels and matching canted side panels. Three fixed inner shelves. Wrought iron latch and hinges.Adzed top and to all front facing surfaces other than the inset panels. Carved signature mouse in low relief to the
lower front right of the cupboard. Designed for corner wall mounting the unit can also be used as a floor standing corner unit.

Excellent condition and colour, no exterior staining or damage. Slight ring mark staining to the unwaxed inner shelves from glassware, commensurate with normal usage.

Circa 1970

Rectangular form with two flat shelves, each carved from a single piece of Oak. Four square uprights with pointed finials, on the top of one sits a lovely trademark signature carved mouse in highly visible relief. Sold by Thompson’s as a dinner wagon/trolley, but they are so versatile and have many other storage and display uses around the home.

Purchased new in 1970 by its Nottinghamshire owners it has been sympathetically cleaned and re-waxed. Golden in colour with beautiful graining patterns it has been treated to a new set of Shepard castors purchased from R. Thompson’s and is now ready for another 40 years of use.

Circa 1931-1935

In perfect condition this flared bowl with gilded rim, raised on three gilded feet is from the Handcraft range and is finished in a sponged matt blue glaze with hand painted delphiniums. Printed factory marks to the underside and painted numbers 6655/3526.
