Circa  1970s/80s

A very rare and unusal pair of solid walnut Napkin Rings from the Acorn Industries workshop of  Alan 'Acornman' Grainger of Brandsby. Of triangular form with Alan's trademark acorn signature.

Alan is one of the few Yorkshire Critters craftsmen to have produced ranges in Walnut and Mahogany, as well as Oak, for which they are most well known.

Excellent condition, display use only, no faults of losses and a rich darker fumed colour.

Circa 1960s/70s

A superb solid oak Two Tier Trolley or Side Table from from the Acorn Industries workshop of Alan 'Acornman' Grainger. Of rectangular form with two fixed adzed shelves supported on four adzed square legs with original Shepherd castors, a trademark acorn carved to one leg. For added versatility the top section is detachable allowing usage as two small tables.

Excellent structurally and presented in a wonderful rich medium oak colour, free from any stains or damage.

1983

A wonderful hand adzed solid oak Dressing Table and Mirror from the Acorn Industries workshop of Alan 'Acornman' Grainger and his family. The mirror and supports are easily detached from the rear and it can also be used as a Chest of Drawers. The shaped oval mirror above a rear shaped upstand,  two short over two long drawers with brass handles.  The drawers are 10cm, 10.7cm and 15.5cm in height. Tradional panelled sides and back. There's also a trademark signature to the upper right front, it's dated 1983 to the middle lower rail.

Wonderful original condition  with very minor usage marking and a slight edge chip to the bevelled glass, medium fumed oak colour.

Size: 103 (w) x 55.5(d) x 1499h)cm,  52(d) x 73(h)cm with mirror removed.

An excellent example of a traditional solid English oak Dressing Table and Mirror  from the Acorn Industries workshop of Alan 'Acornman' Grainger and family.  Of typical rectangular form, adzed and panelled to all visible surfaces with 5 drawers, traditional wrought iron drawer fittings and a trademark acorn signature.

Excellent original condition, solid joints and free from ring stains, rich medium fumed colour, just very minor light splash marking to the lower legs.

Circa 1964

An excellent  solid oak Dressing Table and Mirror from the Acorn Industries workshop of Alan 'Acornman' Grainger and his family. The mirror and supports are easily detached from the rear and it can also be used as a Chest of Drawers or TV / Entertainment unit. The rectangular mirror above two short over one long drawer with beautuful macassar ebony drawer handles, each carved with the acorn signature. Tradional panelled sides and back.There's also a trademark signature to the lower right leg. 

Excellent condition, flat planed oak planks, honey oak colour.

Circa 1980

An excellent example of the solid oak Spinning Stool from the Acorn Industries workshop of Alan 'Acornman' Grainger. Features an adzed  back splat pierced with a heart shape, traditionally pegged  to the adzed seat which is supported on three splayed and tapering octagonally carved legs which are wedge jointed through the seat.

Excellent condition and colour with tight solid leg joints.

Circa 1960s/70s

An excellent example of an Alan 'Acornman' Grainger Large Oak Freestanding Glazed Corner Display Cabinet from  their Acorn Industries workshops at Brandsby, near York. Fully adzed to all visible panels with traditional wrought iron fittings. The upper section has lockable twin glazed panel doors which open to reveal three fitted oak shelves, below is a lockable shelved cupboard with twin oak panelled doors. 

Excellent condition and rich medium oak colour, rewaxed and cleaned in our workshop. 

We've fitted a new brass lock with keys to the upper section, the original keys were missing.

Circa 1960s

A wonderfully patinated example of an earlier oak occasional table and stool from Acornman Alan Grainger at Acorn Industries. Adzed to all visible areas, it features a top which is visibly pegged  to shaped trestle style legs which are joined by a traditionally pegged central stretcher bearing his trademark acorn incised centrally.

Wonderful waxed condition and rich colour with one very minor surface scratch to the top (shown in the image gallery below.)
