WE'RE STILL OPEN ON-LINE DESPITE OUR PRESTON SHOWROOM HAVING TO CLOSE AGAIN
- Details
Sadly, due to the Tier 4 Covid restrictions our showroom within the Preston Antique Centre has not been able to re-open to the public after the Christmas and New Year holiday.
We would like to assure all our customers that we remain open 24/7 to all enquiries and sales via our website during this period.
The situation does appear to be worsening by the day so further national restrictions look increasingly likely.
STAY SAFE .... let's hope for better times in the coming months, and that the vaccination program can be rolled out without any unecessary delays.

PRICE REDUCTIONS .... Effective 1st November 2019
- Details
We are plesed to advise clients that with Christmas looming we've lowered the prices on a wide range of Furniture and Collectables, effective 1st November 2019.
If you are looking to treat yourself this Christmas, or for a gift idea for family or friends, take a scroll through our Current Stock portfolio. We've always been highly regarded for our competitive pricing..... so some of our prices may just surprise you. We frequently see people paying far more at auction than we are selling the same items for... and we've spent time and effort refurbishing and polishing them to top condition !
Our Preston Antique Centre showroom is currently very well stocked, so much so that we are turning pieces down from private sellers that we'd most definitely buy if we had more space. It's well worth a visit, not only to see our own stock, but the 3 floors from over 30 other top quality dealers. Alternatively, David is always pleased to answer any questions clients may have on the telephone or by email.

We've Moved
- Details
Apologies to all our clients for the inactivity on the website in the last week or two. We've been extremely busy with a family house move back over the Pennines to our native Lancashire, to be nearer our parents, relatives and many long standing friends.
Having completed this week on the sale of our home for the last 21 years in Kirkby Fleetham, Northallerton, we are currently renting a property in Morecambe / Lancaster whilst we search for our ideal home in the North Lancs / South Lakes / Western Yorkshire Dales area.
Our main showroom in the Preston Antiques Centre is unaffected by this change of home address and at present we retain the lockup storage facility we have in Northallerton. The Preston centre is open 7 days a week for viewings and sales, the Northallerton unit is by appointment only as it is 1 1/2hours drive away and is a secure gated facility.
David will be pleased to answer any questions clients may have.

Launch of New Website
- Details
Welcome everyone to our refreshed and updated website which has taken three months of diligent work by our web designer Mark Banks at Packhorse Design and ourselves to come to fruition. We hope that all our website visitors will find viewing the website an easy and pleasurable experience. Our aim all along has been to maintain all the best elements our regular clients have liked about the original website, whilst simplifying the page and catalogue navigation and incorporating the latest layout and viewing technologies.
A summary of the main amendments is detailed below, but our main recommendation is to scroll and click around the site......it should all soon make sense !
- Most of the website is now 'responsive' which means the pages reformat automatically to display neatly and ensure they are readable on a wide range of devices with varying screen sizes. Tablet and smart phone users in particular will find the viewing experience greatly improved. The product catalogue software is not quite as responsive as we'd hoped and we've had to accept a few minor compromises which are most noticeable on smart phone screens. Switching between portrait and landscape modes, as appropriate for optimum viewing, resolves all the issues we've encountered in testing over the last few weeks.
- We've simplified the product categories down to 'Furniture' and 'Collectables'. Clients can also still search by 'Craftsman/Manufacturer which continues to list current stock pieces first and sold items following on.
- The image gallery for individual pieces is now scrollable, a feature we know will be welcomed by many regular website visitors.
- Our sold archive remains but is now a separate section on the main menu.
Dont hesitate to contact us if you experience any difficulties navigating around, or you find any major errors we've not spotted and rectified yet.
