Circa 1980s

A superb set of 4 oak and leather high back dining chairs  from  ex mouseman craftsman Peter 'Rabbitman' Heap of Wetwang, near Driffield. The chairs feature  their original cushioned leather backs and seats held in place with   antiqued brass upholstery pins. The leather is in exceptional condition, showing very little evidence that the chairs been sat on with any frequency. Oak panelled rears, the front legs with typical square and octagonal carving and each with Peters trademark  rabbit carved in high relief. Two rabbits are on the right front legs, two on the left. The oak frames are tight and have been cleaned and re-waxed in our workshop and present in a rich warm medium oak colour. Privately purchased, the original owners from Devon.

Circa 1970s

An unusual 9 3/4" shallow oak fruitbowl  with a carvd and rolled upper edge from the workshop of ex mouseman craftsman Peter 'rabbitman' Heap of Wetwang, near Driffield. Well grained with  a medium colour and a rabbit signature incised into the base of the bowl.Very minor staining to the bowl.

Circa 1980

An excellent example of the popular Nest of Tables made by ex mouseman craftsman Peter ' Rabbitman' Heap. Of typical rectangular form with adzed tops, supported on four carved legs joined by stretchers. Peter's trademark carved rabbit to each front right leg.

Cleaned and clear waxed it presents with a natural rich medium oak colour.

1978

A bespoke commissioned 3'4" Kneehole Dressing Table with full width Mirror from the mouseman trained craftsman Peter 'Rabbitman' Heap. Adzed and panelled all round the dressing table features a bank of 3 graduated drawers to the left side.  The adzed tilting mirror is detachable  and features  decorative moulding to the lower edge.

Cleaned and rewaxed it presents in excellent condition and colour, privately acquired with original order/invoice together with other Rabbitman and Gnomeman pieces.

A superb 5' Sideboard from the Oak Rabbit Crafts workshop in Wetwang of  ex mouseman craftsman Peter 'Rabbitman' Heap. Subtly adzed all over it features a rear upstand, a central bank of 3 graduated drawers  with panelled and shelved cupboards either side, complete with traditional wrought iron fittings.

Excellent condition and colour, privately acquired together with it's original invoice dated 9/10/82 and a number of other Rabbitman and Gnomeman pieces.

A superb example of a rare to market oak Book Trough from former mouseman craftsman Peter Heap. Beautifully grained timber that has been adzed to all visible surfaces. 

Medium fumed it presents in a rich  deep medium colour following a light clean and fresh application of clear wax.

Circa 1970s/80s

A very rare to market pair of oak carved book bookends from the Wetwang workshop of ex mouseman craftsman Peter Rabbitman Heap.  Adzed all over with his trademark rabbit carved prominently to the top of each bookend.  Lovely condition and a rich deep colour, with just slightloss and wear to the lower rear corner  of one bookend (shown in the image gallery below).

A superb dark fumed adzed and tooled fruitbowl from the wetwang workshop of Peter 'rabbitman' Heap. Excellent  colour and condition with no damage, stains or other imperfections and a very plump rabbit carved centrally in the bowl.

Circa 1970s

Rarely seen on the market a lovely oak standard lamp by ex mouseman craftsman Peter 'Rabbitman' Heap of Wetwang, standing on a shaped cruciform base with a trademark rabbit carved in high relief to one of the supports,  with a heavily adzed octagonal tapering column above. In full working order, fitted with a new brass bulb holder with a 3.5 meter lead.

Rich deep honey colour, excellent condition just some natural minor age related hairline wood splits to the base and some filled natural burrs on the column.

Size: 33(w) x 33(d) x 137.5(h)cm excluding brass bulb fittings.
