Robert ‘Mouseman’ Thompson, 1930s Oak Trinket / Powder Bowl

Circa 1930s

A rare, beautifully patinated and very highly sought after Robert 'Mouseman' Thompson Oak Trinket / Powder Bowl of tapered circular form and domed cover lid, a well exectuted mouse sitting centrally on the domed top. Tooled all over, including the inside of the bowl. 

An exquisite piece,  with superb darker fumed and naturally aged colour and waxed patina, highly prized by collector's of early Mouseman. An ideal table top piece, perfect for rings and small jewellery items.

An almost identical piece was sold at Tennants, Leyburn for £ 5,200 hammer, £ 6.448 incl buyers premium on 6th March 2021. A  later made 1948 example sold for £ 4,800 hammer, £ 5952 inclusive of buying fees on 19th June 2021 and a 1960s made example sold for £ 3,100 hammer, £ 3844 inclusive of buying fees in July 2020.
