Wilf Hutchinson ‘Squirrelman’ Oak Early 18 1/2” Stool or Occasional Table

Stock ref: DS1302

Circa late 1950s / early 1960s

A wonderfully patinated early oak 18" stool or occasional side table by 'Squirrelman' Wilf Hutchinson, part of a suite of pieces all acquired from the same private estate. Features a tradional flat adzed nailed top  supported on four turned and carved adzed legs joined by chamfered stretchers.  The apron supporting the top features a rare initialled  early squirrel.  3 1/2" taller than the currently made item it is structurally  sound with no loose joints, a superb colour and patination, just the expected minor light marking commensurate with its age and normal usage.
