‘Foxman’ Don Craven, Oak Nest of 3 Tables

Stock ref: DS2260

Circa 1960s

A superb solid oak Nest of 3 Tables from the ex mouseman craftsman Don Craven, the original Foxman prior to Malcolm Pipes adopting this 'Critter' after Don had retired. After leaving Robert Thompson's  he worked with Bob Hunter and established Aldborough Woodcrafts in Boroughbridge, adopting a seated, bushy tailed fox as his trademark, whilst in business in the 1960s and early 70s.

Adzed and of rectangular form, each table standing on four octagonally carved legs, joined with stretchers,  with Don's signature bushy tailed sitting fox carved onto one leg of the largest table.

Presents in a lovely condition and colour with tight leg joints and  free from any major stains, although some characterful minor usage marks remain following a sympathetic clean and re-wax.
