A wonderful early example of the popular solid oak magazine rack by Robert ‘Mouseman’ Thompson., circa late 1950s / early 60s. Standing on adzed sledge feet with panelled V shaped sides, supported by two octagonally carved uprights joined to a carrying handle. An excellent trademark mouse is carved running along the handle.
Wonderful overall condition and patina for an early example, with a rich depth of waxed and aged medium fuming. There is slight evidence at one end, on the upper pinned ends of the V shaped sides, of what we think are likely to be a dogs chewing marks. We’ve photographed the area affected clearly for potential buyers to see and, of course, it is reflected in the listed price below.
