An excellent example of the Robert Thompson ‘Mouseman’ solid oak earlier 18″ cow / milking stool, circa 1950s. Natural ‘cats paw’ burrs visible in the subtly adzed seat and standing on three splayed and tapered octagonally carved legs which are visibly wedge jointed through the seat.

This earlier design is distinguishable from more modern examples by the use of a thicker seat and the positioning of the mouse carving on the rear outer edge instead of being at the front in the kidney shaping.

Excellent condition and aged medium fumed colour with tight leg joints.
