Robert Thompson ‘Mouseman’ Oak Nest of 3 Tables, 1960s/early 70s

An excellent example of the highly popular Robert ‘Mouseman’ Thompson oak nest of three tables, circa 1960s/70s. Three tables of graduated sizes, each with adzed tops and four octagonally carved legs, joined by stretchers. Signature mice carved to the front right leg of each table.

Excellent condition and colour, sympathetically cleaned, waxed and polished in our workshop. The tops are only waxed, pre-dating the trend from the late 70s onwards to varnishing them. This does make the tops more prone to marking, but has the advantage of being much easier to re-clean and wax than the varnished tops, which have to be chemically stripped when the varnish wears or stained.
