Stanley Webb Davies of Windermere Arts and Crafts Oak Stool, 1946

An excellent  solid oak dressing stool from the Windermere, Cumbria workshop of Stanley Webb Davies, the renowned Cotswold School trained Arts and Crafts furniture maker. Stanley Webb Davies pieces are rare to the market and increasingly highly sought after, representing understated Arts and Crafts furniture at its very best, in the Cotswold School style of Gimson, Romney Green and the Barnsley’s. Displaying the very finest cabinet making techniques and skills combined with meticulous attention to the smallest details. Drop in fabric upholstered seat.

SWD signed and dated 1946, made by  craftsman Richard ‘Dickie’ Cloudsdale. 

Excellent condition, tight frame joints and darker oak colour, just one tiny chip visible to one top corner edge.
