Stock ref: DS1348

1983

Rare solid mahogany floor standing glazed corner display cabinet from Alan ‘Acornman’ Grainger at Acorn Industries. Alan and Bob Hunter the ‘Wrenman’ are amongst the few Yorksire makers who have offered items in other solid hardwoods, alongside the oak
ranges  for which they are better known. Constructed in two sections which makes movement much easier, the upper section featuring Georgian style glazed astragal bars and three fixed inner display shelves with the signature acorn carved to the side
panel. The lower section has a field panelled cupboard door with three inner fixed shelves. Both upper and lower sections are lockable, all the keys are present. In wonderful condition.

Part of a range of mahogany acornman pieces acquired from a private estate near York, the original invoice confirming it was purchased new  on 25/8/83

Handmade to the same exacting standards as the oak ranges. Originally costing about the same prices as the equivalent oak items  the mahogany pieces  now represent great value compared to the currently more fashionable oak pieces.
