Arts & Crafts Copper & Beech 3 Fold Fire Screen

Stock ref: DS1081

Circa 1890 – 1910

A wonderful expression of Arts and Crafts copper work set within a reed moulded, beech framed, three fold firescreen, Unmarked, the 6 individual copper panels, 2 in each fold, are hand hammered and repousse decorated with stylised plant forms, a typical
Arts & Crafts subject. To the rear, beech boards secured with brass fixings secure the copper panels in place.
The copper panels are in a lovely patinated condition. The beech frame is generally excellent, with evidence of minor repair to the
feet sections and a back panel split which has been glued. It is also possible the screen extended even higher originally as there is evidence of circular wood filled holes in the top corner sections of each fold in the frame.

Overall Size: 96 (w) x 2.5(d) x 95(h) cm
