Circa 1970s

An excellent set of 4 solid oak Dining Chairs by the ex Mouseman and Sid Pollard craftsman Brian Haw. Of typical form with 3 panelled backs, the seats with original beige treated leather upholstery held in place with upholstery pins. Standing on four carved legs joined by stretchers, the front stretcher between the front legs in line with early Mouseman construction.

Excellent well looked after condition with no loose joints or damage, warm medium oak finish.

Update 1/12/20. The matching 4’6″ refectory style Dining Table (see stock ref: DS2270B) has now been sold.

Made by ex mouseman craftsman Brian Haw whilst working with Sid Pollard, for his own personal family use and comes to market from his family estate, together with other personal pieces. The Haw family had a 90 year unbroken  connection to Robert Thompson’s with Brian’s father Len Haw starting work in 1920 as one of Robert’s very eariest craftsmen. Brian and his brother John followed him into Robert Thompson’s on leaving school in 1960. John Haw retired in 2010 after 50 years service, Brian left in 1970 and worked with Sid Pollard prior to his death.
