Don Craven ‘Foxman’ Bespoke Oak 4′ Storage Box or TV Stand, 1960s / early 70s

An excellent bespoke commissioned solid oak 4′ storage / blanket box or large TV stand from the ex Mouseman craftsman Don ‘Foxman’ Craven who established and operated  his  Aldborough Woodcrafts  business with Bob Hunter (later Wrenman) in the 1960s and early 70s.  Don was the original ‘Foxman’ before Malcolm Pipes reprised the fox as his own signature in the 1980s.

Rectangular form with adzed top with cleated ends and hinged rear, adzed framework with carved inlaid panels all round, standing on four carved feet. Unusually it has been commissioned with side opening panelled doors each with rose head handles. Don’s signature seated and bushy tailed fox in high relief to the lower front right foot.

Excellent condition and medium fumed and waxed colour.
