Stock ref: DS2058

Circa 1960s

A superb and rare to market example of a large solid English oak  ‘Foxman’ Ashtray by the ex mouseman craftsman Don Craven. After leaving Robert Thompson’s  he worked with Bob Hunter and established Aldborough Woodcrafts in Boroughbridge, adopting a seated, bushy tailed fox as his trademark, whilst in business in the 1960s and 70s. The fox trademark was  later revived and adopted by Malcolm Pipes in the 1980s, albeit with a different carved fox signature.

Superb condition and colour, privately acquired from a relative of Don’s.

Size: 12.2(w) x 10.2(d) x 5.3(h)cm
