Circa early 1980s

An excellent oak shelf from ex mouseman carftsman Lyndon ‘Catandmouseman’ Hammell of Harmby, Nr Leyburn. Originally bespoke commissioned as a mantel shelf fitted to the top of a fire surround. At 5’9 1/2″ in length and over 6″ deep it is also ideal  as a  bookshelf or display shelf.  Adzed to the front edge and top surface with Lyndon’s  trademark carved cat with a mouse in its mouth it presents in a  medium fumed rich medium oak  colour. It’s complete with its original wooden screw hole plugs which can be seen in the image gallery below. Lyndon sadly passed away in March 2015.
