Malcolm Pipes Foxman Oak Trolley

Stock ref: DS2930

Circa 1990s

An excellent example of a handcrafted solid oak two tier trolley by the ex Mouseman craftsman Malcolm ‘Foxman’ Pipes of Carleton Husthwaite, near Thirsk. Of rectangular form with two planed shelves supported on four octagonally carved legs with finial tops and castors to the base. Signature fox face to one leg.

Excellent original condition and colour.

Malcolm trained at Robert Thompson’s in the 1960s and is best known for making many of their longcase clocks, a personal passion for him. He established his own workshop in 1983 where he adopted the fox signature previously used by Don Craven who had retired in the 1970s. Malcolm continued to work until he retired fairly recently.
