Peter ‘Rabbitman’ Heap, Oak 3’ Rectangular Coffee Table

Stock ref: DS1199

Circa 1985

It’s exceptionally rare to find a coffee table that is in such pristine original condition as this example, made by the ex Mouseman craftsman Peter Heap who had his own  workshop in Wetwang near Drifffield in the 70s and 80s. Given originally in
the mid 80’s as a retirement present to a recently deceased collector of the Yorkshire craftsmens work, it has clearly been most carefully used and loved  all it’s life. It genuinely is in as good a condition as the day it was made nearly 30 years
ago, i can’t find an unnatural mark or stain on it.  The  3′ single plank top is finished smooth, well grained and of rectangular form, standing on typical  refectory style carved baluster legs with a central stretcher. Peter’s trademark
rabbit is carved in high relief on one of the legs. Waxed and a superb natural honey colour that  will deepen further with age.
