Circa 1970s

A wonderful Robert ‘Mouseman’ Thompson 4’6″ Octagonal Dining Table with a 4 plank adzed top supported by a cruciform pedestal base, seating 4 in comfort and up to 8 on special occasions. A trademark mouse is carved in high relief to one of the pedestal supports. The worn and flaking original varnished top has been refurbished in our workshop and refinished in the more popular wax only finish and presents in a warm, golden medium fumed colour, free from stains, just a slight joint split to one edge caused by shrinkage / tightening of the wood over the years where the top is screwed to the under supports of the pedestal base (see image gallery below).
