Circa late 1960s

No longer made  these bowls where originally made by Robert Thompson’s  for tapping the ash out of smokers pipes.  They have now been replaced by the 6″ nut bowl, which is the same size except for the raised centre,  and are  rare to the market especially when  in pristine unused condition. Adzed to the outer side with a nicely detailed mouse carved to the exterior.  Superb unused condition and a warm honey colour. In the same family ownership from new as the fruitbowl (DS1454)

Being sold on commission for the local Darlington owner.
