Circa 1930s/early 40s

A rare early  Robert Thompson ‘Mouseman’ burr oak topped octagonal coffee table which presents with an exceptionally rich and deep chesnut colour and patina with no losses or evidence of earlier repairs.  The adzed burr oak top adds immense character to the piece and is a little larger and taller than  is found on most octagonal coffee tables  at 21 3/4″ diameter. In line with early manufacture  of these octagonal coffee tables the cruciform base and feet are also extensively adzed.

A superb collectors piece which was previously sold by us in 2014, we are pleased to have the opportunity to offer it to the market again on behalf of the current owner.
