Stock ref: DS1721

Circa 1940s / early 50s

An excellent example of a Robert ‘Mouseman’ Thompson Oak Desk or Dressing Table with hree graduated drawers to each side, adzed all over in line with early craftsmanship and a trademark mouse carved to the left canted corner. Sympathetically cleaned and re-waxed to remove the expected ring stains from the top it presents in a warm rich deep aged colour and patina. The upper drawers have had their locks forced in the past and were missing on acquisition but they have now been replaced with two new ones, keyed to the same key.

Provenance: Contents of South Hall, sold by Lyon & Turnbull, Edinburgh, May 2008.

Size: 136(w) x50.59d) x 74.5(h)cm
