Circa early 1960s

An early example of a Mouseman cheeseboard with the mouse carved onto the handle.  Adzed with wonderful quarter sawn figuring on the platter and a particularly dinstinctive carved and very high backed mouse on the handle.  The board has been
used as intended so features some fine cut marks but has now been waxed and presents with a superb deep honey colour and patina which accentuates the medullary ray graining in the oak.
