Circa 1950s

A Robert  ‘Mouseman’ Thompson Oak Fire Screen of rectangular form on sledge feet with a pierced handle, carved finial side posts and a very fine trademark mouse carved in high relief to the top edge. An inset wool tapestry below depicting  leaves, fruits and flowers set behind a glazed pane with oak rear panelling. Superb condition with no damage or faults and a rich deep colour to the wooden frame.
