Circa late 1970s

A superb Robert Mouseman Thompson Monks Chair featuring carved monks heads on the arms, one smiling the other frowning. Whilst frequently carved on pre-war chairs they are rarely found on post war made Monks Chairs, only available to special order, at additional cost. The chair has been well looked after from new yet little used, and presents in excellent condition with  solid joints and original aniline cow hide seat which is developing a lovely patina and is almost unmarked.
