A superb example of a Robert Mouseman Thompson Writing Burea. Adzed extensively to the framework, drawer fronts and top in line with earlier manufacturing practise. More modern made examples are only adzed to the top. The lockable fold down front rests on  twin pull out  oak lopers, each of which features a prominently carved mouse. (This is the only piece that routinely features two carved mice on it.) Internally are a range of stationery and storage compartments. Below are two short over two long drawers with wooden handles, the sides and rear are panelled. The piece presents in exceptional condition free from any damage or staining with a wonderful deep golden honey colour. Currently costs £6,625 to buy new.
