A superb solid oak dining / side chair from the Windermere, Cumbria workshop of Stanley Webb Davies, the renowned Cotswold School Arts and Crafts furniture maker. Displaying the very finest cabinet making techniques and skills combined with meticulous attention to the smallest details.  Stunning golden oak colour  and in excellent condition following a gentle clean and wax in our workshop. Signed and dated in the expected SWD manner, made by E.J. Olcorn.

Privately acquired and with excellent provenance, part of a full bedroom suite bespoke made for his older brother  William  R. Davies and his wife Agnes. Complete with letter from Agnes dated 1974. Hugh Wright’s book Stanley Web Davies 1894-1978, Arts & Crafts Furniture Maker makes reference on page 35 to Stanley’s regular visits to Agnes (Aggie) in her later years.
