‘Wrenman’ Bob Hunter, Pair of Oak Napkin Rings

Stock ref: DS2360

Circa 1980s/90s

An exquisite pair of solid oak Napkin Rings by the  ex Mouseman craftsman Bob ‘Wrenman’ Hunter.  Bob is now the only surviving craftsman to have started his apprenticeship at Robert Thompson’s whilst Robert himself was still alive. Bob, now  well into his 80s, continues to work each day ably assisted by his Sons and Grandson. Wren Cabinetmakers was formed in the early 1980s, the wren signature arising from a wren Bob saw building its nest in his workshop, adjacent to his home in Thirlby. Prior to this he worked with Colin Almack ‘Beaverman’ and with Don Craven ‘Foxman’.

Superb condition  and detailing with no faults or losses, they’ve long been our personal favorite of all the napkin rings made by the  various craftsmen.

Sourced from an excellent single owner collection of napkin rings we’ve recently purchased.

Size: 4.8(l) x4.5(w) x 6.5(h) incl wren carving
